Other heating applications and heat exchanger solutions: Customised heat transfer systems for specialised industrial processes

Fully bespoke system solutions and equipment for media coupling, temperature control, and the utilisation of waste and residual heat

Hardly any industrial manufacturing process today fits into a standard template. Virtually all sectors and businesses require specialised heating and heat distribution solutions, unusual media couplings, and heat exchangers designed for specific temperature ranges and applications. This often involves the safe separation of media, the recovery and utilisation of waste heat, and the simultaneous variable and safe supply of various heat transfer media to individual units and operational components: thermal oils, warm and hot water, steam, hot air and hot gases, or even molten salts. It is crucial that the equipment solution is suited to the medium, the level of contamination, the pressure and temperature levels, and the operating concept.

CAW develops heat exchanger and heating solutions as part of a fully integrated complete system. Shell-and-tube heat exchangers form a robust foundation for this, as they can withstand high temperatures and pressures and provide clear separation of the media. Depending on the application, designs with removable tube bundles, special materials or customised flow patterns are used. Economisers utilise flue gas heat, maximising its economic potential and thereby significantly increasing the overall efficiency of existing plants.

In systems where the heat transfer media listed above are used in combination, CAW designs the appropriate media coupling. Thermal oil systems and thermal oil heaters provide stable process heat, whilst electric heaters enable emission-free heating and cover peak load scenarios. In exhaust air and exhaust gas processes, TRO/TAR systems can generate heat whilst reliably reducing emissions. Where waste heat is continuously available, combined heat and power generation using ORC technology can simultaneously enable electricity generation.

    • Shell-and-tube heat exchangers for reliable fluid separation and high performance
    • Economiser for utilising waste heat and residual heat from flue gas and process streams
    • Thermal oil systems and electric heaters as flexible heat sources
    • Engineering for bespoke solutions, integration into and modification of existing systems
    • Service concepts for long-term plant operation

CAW provides comprehensive support with customised design, material selection, system optimisation and safety concepts. The result is technically sound equipment and system solutions that operate reliably over the long term in the demanding conditions of day-to-day operations and production.
