Thermal oil heaters – whether as direct-fired units or as waste heat recovery systems/economisers in the exhaust systems of ship engines – are adapted to the fuel, power requirements and installation environment. Shell-and-tube heat exchangers are relevant for maritime systems because they provide clear media separation and are robust against pressure and temperature fluctuations.
