Soap and detergent industry: Process heat for mixers, reactors and drying systems

High process temperatures, a reliable heat supply, precise temperature control, and safe exhaust air and flue gas solutions

Thermal processes play a decisive role in determining product quality in the soap and detergent industry: melting, mixing, reaction and saponification, as well as drying and evaporation, all require reproducible and precisely defined temperatures, along with consistently stable heat transfer. Raw materials and formulations vary; load changes are common in many batch processes; and production plants operate almost exclusively in multi-shift operation. In addition, exhaust air streams laden with odours or organic compounds are generated, which must be reliably controlled at all times.

CAW supplies process heat centres designed for maximum availability, precise control and industrial robustness. Thermal oil systems are suitable for the uniform temperature control of reactors, heat exchangers and dryers. The predominantly fossil-fuel-fired thermal oil heaters are designed to prioritise operational safety and, in particular, efficiency. Shell-and-tube heat exchangers enable the safe separation of media and the flexible distribution of heat, for example to generate warm and hot water or even steam via secondary heating circuits.

For exhaust air streams containing organic compounds or odours, CAW designs TRO/TAR systems for thermal after-treatment and purification. The heat generated in this process can be effectively recovered and fed back into the processes. Economisers, waste heat recovery systems and additional downstream heating surfaces increase overall efficiency and reduce fuel consumption. Electric heaters are an option where consistently emission-free heat or coverage of electrical base and peak loads is required.

    • Thermal oil systems for reactors, evaporators and dryers
    • TRO/TAR systems for exhaust air treatment and odour control
    • Shell-and-tube heat exchangers for heating networks and fluid separation
    • Economiser for waste heat recovery and improved efficiency
    • Engineering, integration, installation supervision, commissioning, servicing and spare parts supply

CAW develops and supplies modern, flexible plant designs that ensure process stability and make efficient use of energy. The aim is to provide a heating and exhaust air solution that operates reliably at all times during continuous operation.
